About BUBA

At the Baltimore Urban Baseball Association (BUBA), we embody innovation, creativity, and unwavering dedication to igniting positive change in underserved communities. Our mission is to create transformative opportunities primarily for minority youth, both boys and girls, by harnessing the power of baseball and softball.

Our vision is rooted in enhancing the lives of at-risk youth and young adults across Baltimore City. Through comprehensive teaching, personalized coaching, impactful mentoring, and enriching education, we strive to be a beacon of hope and progress in their lives. We stand committed to revitalizing the heart of the game – baseball and softball – within the city limits of Baltimore. We believe that the sport’s values of teamwork, resilience, and discipline provide a powerful backdrop for nurturing cultural diversity and holistic youth development.

Key Pillars of Our Mission

Empowering Education

We aim to supplement classroom learning by using baseball and softball as a dynamic tool for education. By blending sports and academics, we equip our youth with life skills, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities that extend far beyond the diamond.

Inclusive Excellence

Our commitment to cultural diversity is unwavering. We see the beauty in unity amid differences and foster an environment where all young athletes can thrive, regardless of their background. Through sports, we celebrate the rich tapestry of Baltimore’s communities.

Life-Long Values

Baseball and softball teach invaluable life lessons that resonate well beyond the field. By instilling values such as teamwork, leadership, respect, and perseverance, we empower our youth to become confident, compassionate, and responsible citizens.

Community Upliftment

We believe that the true impact of our efforts extends to the community at large. By engaging families, neighborhoods, and local partners, we create a holistic network of support that uplifts Baltimore as a whole.”
