Our mission is to create transformative opportunities primarily for minority youth, both boys and girls, by harnessing the power of baseball and softball.
Our vision is rooted in enhancing the lives of at-risk youth and young adults across Baltimore City. Through comprehensive teaching, personalized coaching, impactful mentoring, and enriching education, we strive to be a beacon of hope and progress in their lives. We stand committed to revitalizing the heart of the game – baseball and softball – within the city limits of Baltimore. We believe that the sport’s values of teamwork, resilience, and discipline provide a powerful backdrop for nurturing cultural diversity and holistic youth development.

Our Story
BUBA is a non-profit organization, established in 2016, whose mission is to transform the lives of Baltimore City Youth facing adversity, by providing a nurturing and supportive environment, while leveraging baseball training and development. Ultimately, BUBA will make a meaningful impact in the City of Baltimore utilizing the sport of baseball/softball to provide leadership, academic enrichment, college access and social mobility. BUBA is a 100% volunteer grassroots organization based in one of the nations most disenfranchised urban centers. BUBA’s volunteers are made up of men and women from the City of Baltimore, and include former collegiate and professional softball and baseball players, along with high school coaches and community members.

The Baltimore Urban Baseball Association, Inc. (“BUBA”) is a “Public Charity” under IRS Code Section 501(c)(3) and Section 509(a)(1). This tax-exempt status was approved by the IRS on August 16, 2018, retroactive to its incorporation date: April 11, 2017.
As a tax-exempt entity, BUBA has filed IRS Form 990 Return of Organization Exempt from Income Tax for its fiscal years ending December 31, 2017, 2018, and 2019.
BUBA is also registered with the Maryland Charitable Organization Division and received a Certificate of Registration – Charitable Organization effective June 6, 2018. With this approval, BUBA is permitted to solicit charitable donations within the State of Maryland. BUBA has also filed its Annual Update of Registration Form for 2018 and 2019.
